A great menu catering for all tastes, that was well presented with all 22 guests agreeing that it was excellent. The service was very good and most helpful, making for a memorable evening that to top it all was very good value. My thanks to Robert and all his staff who made it an enjoyable event. I would happerly recommend
Hi, I visited your establishment last night with my brother, who is on a visit
from Canada. He said it was the best English pint he had tasted in 38 years.
The food was fantastic and the wine with dinner was superb. Not only that, the
barman was a delight and very helpful and the waitresses were all you could wish
for. Polite, friendly and nothing too much trouble for them. I would recommend
The Old Wheatsheaf to anyone.  Regards
A pub you would just drive by and think of it as a local’s pub, which we have done for the past 20 odd years. We booked a table as we had seen positive on-line reviews. It did look like a traditional pub but as we collected our drinks from the bar and walked out of the pub we were amazed to discover a conservatory area, furnished and decorated to a high standard with plenty of plants and water features, very pretty. The restaurant was more modern, very clean and intimate. The menu was quite diverse with a couple of specials available, spoilt for choice. We ordered prawns, scallops to start and for main the pave steak and sea bass. The food was presented in such a skilled way and each mouthful of food was a joy to the taste buds. You would definitely not call it pub grub but more, high end restaurant food. It is no more expensive than other restaurants but would say the food is far superior to anywhere we have tasted locally. My birthday is tomorrow so I am planning to try out the lunch menu. What a find and fantastic that is on our door step.

The food was fantastic with plenty of choice on the menu, we were served promptly by a really friendly waitress who was happy to offer advice. My husband and I were impressed with the whole atmosphere of the place and all of the staff were so helpful and polite. We will definitely be going back.

Hi Robert,

just had to drop you a line and thank you and your staff for the amazing evening last night. Everyone had a super evening and the meal was outstanding. Your chefs are fantastic. The girls were truely brilliant and so accomodating and for 31 highly demanding teaching staff all singing their praises they were a credit to you.
You will no doubt be seeing many of us again.
Thank you once again, it was a true pleasure.
Best wishes

French night last night, the chef did himself and everyone proud. Brilliant food, great wine (which they certainly didn't skimp on!) and all for the great price of £25! Service was excellent, and the atmosphere fabulous. A must!
